Brief Bio
Sergio received the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain, in 2017.
He joined the Intelligent System Lab, within the Department of Systems and Automation Engineering, in 2016 for his Bachelor’s thesis (TFG), where he worked with Real Time 3D Mapping using Monocular Aerial Images.
He's finishing his Master's thesis (TFM). The goal of his work is to develop all onboard systems needed for autonomous UAV to monitor fires and help firefighting.
His main research interests are related to computer vision, intelligent transport systems and software development.
He has experience with robotics and vision architectures such as Robotics Operative System (ROS) and Open Computer Vision library (OpenCV).
Currently, he is working in the project: "Sistema autónomo aéreoterrestre para la inspección colaborativa y digitalización de la red ferroviaria: DG RAIL" at UC3M at Intelligent Systems Lab (LSI).
